Department Vision Statement
The Department of Boards and Councils of the NCEA will be the premier source for information and services related to governance for Catholic elementary and secondary schools, Diocesan boards,* and Catechetical programs, thus fostering the viability and sustainability of Catholic education.
*The word boards will encompass all boards, councils and commissions.
Boards and Councils Executive Committee
Comprised of leading Catholic educators in a variety of fields from across the country,
this committee assists the department's staff in planning and providing services to
board members across the world of Catholic education.
Each year an individual is recognized for his or her outstanding contribution to establishing and supporting collaborative leadership through boards of Catholic education. Descriptions and photos of previous recipients can be found here.

To serve effectively on boards and councils, today's members must have knowledge of a vast array of disciplines.
