MEMBER INSURANCE BENEFITS
NCEA is please to offer an array of insurance products to assist you in your life planning efforts. For this purpose, NCEA is one of the early members of the Trust for Insuring Educators (TIE), an organization established and operated to offer high quality and low cost insurance products to its member organizations.
From modest beginnings, TIE has grown to over 61 participating organizations today and offers an variety of products ranging  from life insurance plans and health insurance to professional liability insurance.
The professional liability insurance plan is by far the most popular product with NCEA members. Plans are offered to W-2 employed educators, private practice educators and student educators [see overall coverage brochure details].
Should you be faced with a lawsuit arising out of your professional duties, you'll have up to $2,000,000 available with the Educator's Professional Liability Plan to help pay any settlement, defense costs and, more importantly, protect your hard-earned assets. You'll be protected against allegations such as the following whether you are found guilty or innocent:
- Improper placement of students
- Injuries to students under your supervision
- Improper methods employed in instruction, counseling, research design, etc.
- Defamation
- Failure to educate
- Failure to promote students or grant credit
- Violation of student civil rights
