SATURDAY: Celebrating Catholic School Alumni
Catholic school alumni are living examples of your Catholic school product. Whether students have moved on to high school or matriculated into college, a large part of their formation and readiness was established in your school.
TIP: Since the Saturday of Discover Catholic Schools Week is the Saturday before Thanksgiving, many older students will be home for the holiday. This is a great opportunity to welcome them with open arms and nurture ongoing relationships.
Suggestions for Celebrating Catholic School Alumni
- Host an alumni versus current student sporting event such as a volleyball game or basketball game. Invite prospective students to watch!
- Ask alumni to record brief video testimonies as to what the experience in your school has done to prepare them for the next step. Use these videos at a future open house event and share on social media.
- Invite alumni to a social hour event to network and catch up.
COVID Tips
- List all of the new things going on at the school and send it to your alumni list either by email or snail mail.
- Invite alumni to use the #iGiveCatholic GivingTuesday and/or the Many Gifts, One Nation: A Day of Giving to Catholic Schools to give back.
- Use Canva to create animated social media graphics to send to alumni of the school during Discover Catholic Schools Week.
- Download the “Dozen Reasons to Choose a Catholic School” poster from the Catholic Schools Week Kit and post it on your website and on social media using #CSW21.
